• Sedimentology, especially turbidites and submarine fan systems
• (Event) Stratigraphy with focus on the Cretaceous, Paleogene and Quaternary
• Anthropocene markers
• FTIR spectroscopy of microplastics
• Paleoclimatology and geological characteristics of past and present climate change
