- Reconstruction of the Neo-Tethys margin and basin geodynamics in the Salt Range fold and thrust belt
- Sediment geochemistry and sedimentary provenance
- Bauxite deposits, their genesis and parental affinity
- Geochemical signals tracing anthropogenic role in climate change and Anthropocene signals
- Event stratigraphy with a focus on the Triassic-Jurassic Boundary
- Seismic reflection data and well logs and their use in facies modelling and correlation
