Research Interests:

  • Rock deformation processes and the associated fluid-rock interactions
  • Rock microstructures, especially associated with brittle faults and dendrite formation
  • Stylolite origin and evolution; pressure-solution creep
  • Image processing and data visualization in 2D and 3D

PhD Project:

Glock Health, Science and Research GmbH (Austria) funded project: UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle)-assisted, (micro-)structural and petrological/geochemical investigation of fault-related deformation processes and the growth of 3D dendrites in clinoptilolite (at Nižný Hrabovec, Slovak Republic).

  • High-resolution UAV mapping
  • High-resolution microstructural investigations using Keyence digital microscopy and electron microscopy (e.g. SEM-SE and BSE, EDS, X-ray microtomography)
  • Image processing via ImageJ, Scikit-image coding and Matlab programming

MSc Thesis (2018):
